The Willow Creek Sportsman’s Club will host a five-event walleye fishing circuit designed to bring anglers together for competitive fishing, camaraderie, and a celebration of the region’s outstanding walleye fishery. The circuit kicks off in May with the first event. Each event will provide anglers with an opportunity to compete, learn from one another, and enjoy time on the water while promoting responsible fishing and outdoor recreation.
The second event of the circuit is the club's annual Kinzua Cup, a premier tournament showcasing the quality walleye fishing found on the Allegheny Reservoir. Anglers will compete for top honors while enjoying the challenge of locating and catching Kinzua’s prized walleye.
The third event is a joint tournament with Paul’s Trading Post, the Tom Himes Memorial Walleye Tournament, bringing together the fishing community and a local business to create an exciting event for anglers and spectators alike. This partnership will help strengthen community involvement while adding another unique stop to the circuit.
The circuit will continue with an additional competitive event before concluding with a Major League Fishing-style event held in conjunction with the Corydon Township Volunteer Fire Department, the Bob McCann Memorial Walleye Tournament. The final event will serve as a major community gathering, combining competitive walleye fishing with the support and involvement of the local fire department. Proceeds and community participation can help support the important work of the fire department while providing anglers with an exciting conclusion to the season.
Together, the five events will create a premier walleye fishing circuit that promotes friendly competition, community partnerships, conservation, and outdoor recreation and ultimately crowning the Team of the Year Champion. The circuit will give anglers something to look forward to throughout the season while showcasing the excellent fishing opportunities available in the area.
